Juan Mares, a neighborhood kid, gets out of poverty the day he meets Norma Valenti, intellectual bourgeoise. They marry, but the coexistence stands apparent inequality between them. Norma and Juan Juan separate virtually giving life and subsisting on charity. Years pass and Juan returns to see Norma. Wanting to retrieve her he devises a plan; a charnego disguise. And create a character that gradually dominates him.
